Project Brief:

A custom UI / UX Web Design for a Luxury Hospitality Brand in South Africa

The Kruger Shalati project needed a website that was both visually compelling and highly usable. Our team designed a custom WordPress theme grounded in UI / UX best practices, focusing on accessibility, responsiveness, and ease of content management for internal teams. The result is a site that blends beautiful design with functional efficiency, giving visitors a seamless online experience.

Challenges & Objectives

The main challenges included outdated design patterns, limited CMS flexibility, and inconsistent user experience. Our objectives were to:

  • Deliver a responsive and accessible UI / UX web design across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Build a custom WordPress theme tailored to the client’s brand and workflow.
  • Improve editorial workflows using modern WordPress tools.
  • Enhance performance, user engagement, and search visibility.

Our approach

User-Centred UI / UX Design

We began the project by focusing on user experience and interface design, ensuring the website structure, navigation, and visual hierarchy were intuitive and aligned with user expectations. Every design decision was guided by UI / UX best practices, creating a clear, engaging journey for visitors across the site.

Custom WordPress Theme Development

We designed and developed a custom WordPress theme tailored specifically to Kruger Shalati’s brand and content needs. This custom approach provided full control over the UI, layout, and performance, resulting in a flexible and scalable website built for long-term use.

Responsive & Accessible Design

Accessibility and responsiveness were integral throughout the design and development process. The website was crafted to perform seamlessly across all devices, delivering a consistent and inclusive user experience while adhering to modern accessibility standards.

Flexible Content Management

To improve usability for internal teams, we implemented custom Gutenberg and ACF blocks, making content updates simple and efficient. This ensured editors could manage content easily while maintaining design consistency and UI / UX integrity across the site.
