The Brief:
Learnlight approached us to support a large-scale WordPress website redesign. Their platform spans over 1,600 pages and plays a critical role in delivering their global offering. The goal was to improve branding across the website, usability, and consistency across the entire site — without disrupting their existing setup.
A key constraint: the site was already fully built in Elementor. While not our typical approach as a WordPress website designer, the project required working within Elementor rather than replacing it.
The Challenge
This wasn’t a typical website WordPress design project.
- A very large, content-heavy site (1600+ pages)
- Existing dependency on Elementor
- Inconsistent layouts and design patterns
- Need for faster internal page creation
- Requirement for improved UX and visual clarity
Rebuilding from scratch wasn’t viable — so the solution had to scale within the current system.
Our Approach
We focused on structure, consistency, and scalability. Using the new designs, we translated Figma to WordPress theme components, creating a system of reusable blocks and patterns inside Elementor.
Modular, reusable content blocks
We created a library of modular, reusable blocks within Elementor, allowing the team to build pages quickly while maintaining full design consistency across the entire website.
Standardised layout systems
Clear layout structures were introduced to ensure every page follows a consistent framework, improving usability and making large-scale content management far more efficient.
Consistent typography and spacing
We defined a unified typography and spacing system to create visual clarity, strengthen branding, and ensure a cohesive experience across all 1600+ pages.
Flexible section patterns for different page types
Pre-built section patterns were developed for key page types, giving the team flexibility to create content while staying within a structured, scalable design system.
Rather than fighting Elementor, we refined it — turning it into a more controlled environment aligned with Custom WordPress Development UK standards.
The Solution
We developed a scalable framework that allowed the Learnlight team to efficiently rebuild and expand their site.
- Reusable Elementor blocks for consistent design
- Predefined patterns to speed up page creation
- Structured templates for different content types
- A unified design system applied across all pages
This enabled a full WordPress website redesign without needing to abandon their existing infrastructure.
The Result
Consistent branding across 1600+ pages
A unified design system ensures every page reflects a clear, consistent brand experience.
Faster content rollout
Reusable blocks enable quick, efficient page creation and updates.
Improved usability and navigation
Structured layouts make the site easier to use and navigate.
A scalable system for growth
A modular setup supports ongoing expansion without ad hoc page building.
